The Consulate-General of Japan in Seattle assists Japanese nationals living in Washington, Montana, and Northern Idaho and works together with local communities to promote Japanese culture and facilitate a variety of exchanges. As the official representative of the Government of Japan in this region, the Consulate strives to strengthen bonds of mutual friendship and understanding between Japan and its neighbors in the Northwest. The Japan-America Society of the State of Washington (JASSW) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that unites a diverse membership of individuals, companies, and organizations from across Washington State and Japan. The Laurasian Institution is a nonprofit organization specializing in high-quality exchange and education programs between the US and Japan. Annually, we support approximately 2,000 participants of varying ages on short- and long-term programs. Musokai Iaido Club is a not-for-profit martial arts educational organization dedicated to promoting the Muso Shinden Ryu style of Iaido – Japanese Swordsmanship.

Perry Garvey has worn many hats professionally over the past decade and a half. His most current one is that of Ad Operations Manager (the evil guy who makes ads appear in your online content). Previously, Perry worked on projects that ranged from shooting promotional footage for the Empowerment Project, to programming an entirely new channel for IndieFlix on Roku devices.

Seattle Cherry Blossom and Japanese Cultural Festival co -produces the annual event with the Seattle Center. Need a few volunteers to serve on the Planning Committee throughout the year and lots of volunteers during the event. Next year the festival will be held on April 10-12, 2026. The Asian Counseling and Referral Service (ACRS) is a social justice organization that promotes the health and well-being of Asians and Native Hawaiians/Pacific Islanders (A&NH/PIs) and other communities by providing and advocating for responsive community-based services. Asia Pacific Cultural Center (APCC) is a center for cultural exchange providing programs and services that promote the greater awareness, understanding, equity, and inclusion of the Asian and Pacific Islander people.  This community includes immigrants, refugees, children and youth, seniors and elders, low-income, and all groups who are a part of the Asia Pacific community.  Our founders recognized the need for cross-cultural understanding in their community, and in 1996 they founded APCC to address this need. Chado Urasenke Tankokai Seattle Association is a non-profit organization of Seattle chapter of Chado Urasenke in Japan that focuses on Japanese Tea Ceremony traditions. We wish to provide information about our organization.


Chin Music Press is a curiously bibliophilic indie publisher located deep in the recesses of Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market. For 19 years, we’ve been creating beautiful, engaging, and affordable books on a wide range of quirky and eclectic topics as well as specialize in books about Japan. JETAA USA (JET Alumni Association of the United States of America) supports the JET Program, the US chapters and membership. The North American Post is a community newspaper covering Japanese and Japanese American topics since 1902. Founded by immigrants from Japan, the North American Post Publishing Inc. is the oldest, minority-owned, publishing company in the Greater Seattle area. Located in what is today’s Japantown, we represent the long and storied history of the Japanese American (JA) community in our area. Today, as one of the few surviving JA-owned newspaper publishers, we serve both JA and newly arriving Japanese natives by featuring bilingual articles in both English and Japanese. We have positioned ourselves as a focal point for information within the community because our articles involve interviews with community leaders and relevant news on regional politics, community events, and businesses. We wish to provide information about our organization.
